Who it’s for: transaction monitoring analysts, investigators, compliance officers and MLROs in Kenyan financial institutions.
Format: about 45 minutes, self-paced, with a 10-question final assessment (pass mark 80%) and a certificate.
You will be able to:
- State the reporting duty in POCAMLA and the POCAMLA Regulations 2023, and when the two-day clock starts.
- Work an alert to one of three outcomes: file, monitor with a recorded rationale, or close, using the customer, the pattern and the information you hold.
- Apply the suspicion test: is there a reasonable basis to suspect?
- Write an STR narrative that answers who, what, when, how much, how and why.
- Keep the records that let an examiner trace every case from alert to decision.
The course uses short lessons, three decision scenarios and a printable job aid. Each lesson ends with a check you can answer before you move on.
